The 53% of America Are Responding To The 99% Protesters

The Blaze had an article up that I want to repost in its entirety. Read it below:
Meet The 53%. Who are they?  The term 53% refers to the people who are actually paying taxes for themselves and the rest of the country.
The 53% is a group of responsible young people organizing across the country. However, this group is not camping out in parks around the country and demanding the entire capitalist system be destroyed. These men and women have jobs (most of them work at more than one job in order to make ends meet), but they are talking about attending the Minneapolis Occupy Wall St. protest scheduled for today – Friday, October 7th.
Here’s a statement from their web page;
So, like, when you’re, like, community organizing for solidarity and stuff, it’s totally cool to have this little hashtaggy thingy when you’re on twitter, so other people, like, totally know what you’re talking about and stuff. So if you’re, like, totally gonna spread the word about being one of the 53% of people who actually, like, pay taxes in America and don’t just, like, hang out protesting stuff all day… like, here’s the hashtaggy thingy. See you at the protest!   #iamthe53
Filmmaker Mike Wilson (the man who gave us “Michael Moore Hates America“) maintains the page. We spoke with Wilson this morning and he explained that the 53% tumblr page came from his brain and the clever minds of his pals, Erick Erickson of Red State and Josh Trevino.
Reports out of Minneapolis say that a protest is expected today in front of the Government Plaza in downtown Minneapolis. The movement states they are going to try and reclaim and rename this area “The People’s Plaza.” Members of the 53% have mentioned that they will be in attendance to offer a counter opinion to the protest.
As we were talking, Wilson explained that he was loading up his camera and headed to the Minneapolis protest to capture it on video. The Blaze will link to Wilson’s coverage as it comes in.
Mike Wilson told us the group was in the very early stages of organizing, but it is happening online – mostly because they have jobs, families, and a sense of personal responsibility. And the 53% have responded to the people alleging to represent 99% of the country. Based on these photo messages, the 99% is patently wrong in their claim.
While the 99% protesters are angry at the 1% of Americans who have accumulated a lot of wealth through their own hard work, they forget about the 53% Americans (which includes the 1%) who pay taxes that pays for the government services that the 47% of Americans enjoy yet pay no taxes for.
If there is any unfairness or inequality, its the fact that 47% feel that they have no obligation to pay taxes and feel that they are entitled to the benefits that the government provides that is paid for by the majority of people.
What's worse is that they want more government services despite the fact that we can't afford it. And they want the 53% to pay more taxes to somehow cover up for the debt that is accumulating at the local, state and federal level. Not only that, but they want an increase in government control in every aspect of our lives and that the 53% happily accept the burden of more taxes in exchange for a reduction in our personal freedoms.
The colonialist protested against England because they were getting taxed without having any voice in Parliament. Thus, the famous rallying cry, "no taxation without representation" helped launch the American Revolution. Yet, the "99% protesters" want representation without taxation. However, The 99% is really the 45% of America who do not pay taxes. Yet, they expect their demands to be heard and granted.
This is unacceptable. It it is a perversion of the American way of governance.
The 53% expressed their anger and disgust in our government who have mismanaged the taxpayer's money to such an extent that we are massively in debt. That's what the TEA party was all about.
However, we need to make our voices heard again to remind the 45% that they do not represent America. Instead of occupying a plaza or park, lets liberate it this November 12th.

Rick Perry: Americans Are Racist And Cold Hearted Towards Illegal Immigrants

Rick Perry has been doing a wonderful job alienating the Republican base in which he defends his record on illegal immigration by insulting those who oppose allowing illegal immigrants to have access to government benefits. In the CNN/Tea Party debate, he implied that those who oppose illegal immigrants getting their education subsidized by the taxpayers were racists:
BLITZER: Governor Perry, I’m going to move on to Governor Huntsman in a second, but you did sign legislation giving some illegal immigrants in Texas the opportunity to have in-state tuition at universities in Texas, explain what that…
PERRY: In the state of Texas, if you’ve been in the state of Texas for three years, if you’re working towards your college degree, and if you are working and pursuing citizenship in the state of Texas, you pay in-state tuition there.
And the bottom line is it doesn’t make any difference what the sound of your last name is. That is the American way. No matter how you got into that state, from the standpoint of your parents brought you there or what have you. And that’s what we’ve done in the state of Texas. And I’m proud that we are having those individuals be contributing members of our society rather than telling them, you go be on the government dole.
In the Fox News/Google Debate, Rick Perry bluntly stated that those who don't want illegals to have subsidized college education were heartless people:
Here's the transcript from the video above:
"If you say that we should not educate children who come into our state for no other reason than that they've been brought their through no fault of their own, I don't think you have a heart," Perry said. "We need to be educating these children because they will become a drag on our society. I think that's what Texans wanted to do. Out of 181 members of the Texas legislature when this issue came up [there were] only four dissenting votes. This was a state issue. Texas voted on it. And I still support it today."
Mitt Romney spoke at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Orlando today and explained that those who oppose illegal immigration are not cruel and unthinking people:
“My friend Gov. Perry said if you don’t agree with his position on giving that in-state tuition to illegals, that you don’t have a heart,” Romney said at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Orlando. “I think if you’re opposed to illegal immigration, it doesn’t mean that you don’t have a heart. It means that you have a heart and a brain.”
Rick Perry's claim its racist, cruel and heartless for those of us who don't want children of illegal immigrants to receive a taxpayer subsidized education that allows them to get an education at a cost that is cheaper than what American citizens get simply because they were brought to America through no fault of their own is not true.
Mitt Romney is correct. It is a logical and compassionate position to insist that illegal immigrants should not be getting a discounted tuition rate at college. Why? Let me explain.
I agree with the argument that children shouldn't be punished for the sins of their parents. These children didn't sneak into the country. Their parents brought them along when they entered the country illegally. However, illegal children shouldn't benefit from the sins of their parents either. And they shouldn't be getting reduced tuition on the taxpayer's dime either.
What is even more astonishing is that  many Texas college campuses are accepting illegal immigrations while turning away thousands of Americans who want to be educated. Lets also not forget that 40% of jobs created in Texas went to illegals and not citizens of Texas. As a result, Texas citizens are having to compete with illegals for jobs and education and are losing that competition. Its one thing for citizens of a state or nation to compete with another for these things, but its another when citizens are having to fight for these things with non-citizens.
Thus, the logical and compassionate position is to give priority to American citizens when it comes to tuition and college acceptance. It is unfair and illogical to give non-citzens benefits that citizens don't get. Moreover, where's the compassion for the American taxpayer? Where's the compassion for the children of natural citizens who are paying a higher rate of tuition than their illegal peers? Where's the compassion for the children of natural citizens who can't get into college while because of admission preferences for illegals?
It just doesn't make sense on an intellectual or compassionate level. It will remain that way no matter how much the pro-Dream Act supporters spin this issue.
Rick Perry can demonize and villify and get sanctimonious with the majority of Americans all he wants, but we won't tolerate it. However, on the bright side, at least he didn't call us Nazis.

Public Schools Have Gone From Education To Indoctrination

The best asset a nation can have is the quality of its education system. Education is what keeps society moving forward, makes businesses stay competitive, allows new technology to emerge and makes it possible for people to achieve their dreams and goals.
Education is the engine to America's success. It is what creates hard working scientists, creative musicians, caring doctors, innovative engineers and brave soldiers who keep America safe.  Education is about teaching people what they need to know.  Its also about helping people to think for themselves and how they can analyze, digest and act upon the information that they come across. Most importantly, education should be a neutral zone in which people can learn about a wide variety of ideas, theories, philosophies and beliefs.
Public education used to be one of America's best asset. However, many of these public schools have stopped educating and are now indoctrinating our students. One liberal blogger is starting to see the light on what conservatives have known all along about public education. He now sees that many of these schools are really indoctrination centers for liberal politics. Here's an excerpt from his blog:
For most of my life I was what you might call an apathetic leftie — I didn’t particularly care about politics, but I always voted Democratic and if the conversation came up I would inevitably concur with my friends’ inevitably “progressive” opinions. And that most definitely included education. It was one of the few things I always had a strong opinion about: education was A Good Thing under all circumstances and maximizing everyone’s education level was ultimately the solution to all problems: unemployment, intolerance, ignorance, public health — everything.
In my youthful brain I couldn’t even conceptualize anything other than “public education,” so that’s what I imagined I was in favor of: Making public school, from pre-school up through graduate school, accessible to everyone and of the highest standards. I was like, Duh, how can you have any other opinion?
But then 9/11 happened and like many once brain-dead liberals I awakened to a new reality. I didn’t particularly like this harsh new world, but I could see quite clearly that I had been drifting in a haze before, unaware of what was really going on. Mostly, as with most 9/11 Newborns, my new political awareness at first focused primarily on foreign policy and American Exceptionalism, but little by little, once this end was tugged, the fuzzy yarnball of my former political self unraveled entirely.
(Now it just lies in a jumbled heap on the floor.)
But as I walked around the rally in San Francisco, and later scanned the pictures taken by Ringo at the L.A. rally, I found myself thinking uncharitable thoughts about the protesting teachers: I hope your funding gets cut even more! Your demands are futile because the state is bankrupt anyway and there’s no more money to give; but even if the economy were to eventually recover, I would still want to see funding for public education slashed to a minimum.
Horrors! I was taken aback by my own thoughts. How could I be so cruel? What evil right-wing influence was making me think this way?
Even so, it’s hard to discuss the issue because the general adult public rarely gets a chance to actually perceive in person the kind of indoctrination that goes on daily in our classrooms. And without visual or experiential proof of the detractors’ claims, the indoctrinators always have plausible deniability: You wingnuts are hyperventilating over nothing! The only indoctrination going on is in your fevered dreams.
In fact, the left-leaning teachers’ unions often claim the opposite: that standardized testing forces them to teach rote learning as neutrally as possible, because school funding is now tied to each school’s overall test results.
And that’s what these May 13 rallies were all about: funding. Money money money, give us more money.
And then it hit me why I had such an adverse reaction to the whole thing:
The very act of them asking for money is what made me not want to give them money, because it revealed their political bias.
To read the rest of the article, go HERE.
I strongly recommend reading the entire article because he discusses how he came to realize that the public education system no longer educates our students but indoctrinates them and what citizens, parents, leaders and politicians can do to destroy the iron grip that teacher's unions have on our public education system. It is also worth reading to see the pictures and videos posted on the blog.
Once you read the blog, you'll never look at public education the same way again. Even if you already believe that there is a liberal bias in public schools, it will open your eyes even wider.
I highly encourage you to share that article with others. The first step to improving our schools starts with educating the public about what our children learn in schools. Once the public becomes educated, then they will be more likely to support policies and programs that actually teaches our kids what they need to know to be successful in life. There are many wonderful alternatives to public education that give our children the kind of education they deserve and that is available to everyone such as school vouchers, private schools, online schools, home schooling and even private tutoring.
Just as the solution to our energy problems is to diversify our sources of energy by allowing wind, water, nuclear, coal, solar and other energy sources to be produced in America, the solution to our current education crisis is to allow a diversity of avenues to education. It will reduce the monopoly that unions have on our schools, increase competition which will reduce the cost of education which make it affordable to everyone and actually get our kids educated.
The famous phrase to fight bad speech with good speech. The only way to fight poor education is with good education. And the best way to do that is to educate your friends, family, teachers and political representatives about what's really going on in our public education system.
